  • We’re looking for passionate, motivated people to join our Supporting People on Probation Team in Norfolk as a Supporting People on Probation Navigator.

    • Experience in probation, prisons, policing, courts, psychology, counselling, education, social services, health, social prescribing or foster care would be beneficial.
    • We also welcome people who can bring transferable skills and valuable life experience from other backgrounds.
    • A full UK driving licence is desirable, as travel between venues is essential.

    What you will be doing

    • Supporting adults on probation to make positive and lasting changes in their lives.
    • Building trusting and supportive relationships with Service Users.
    • Helping Service Users understand their lifestyle, relationships, emotional wellbeing and the factors that may contribute to offending.
    • Supporting people to move away from relationships and situations that may lead to offending.
    • Helping Service Users build and maintain positive relationships with family and significant others.
    • Agreeing Action Plans and interventions with Service Users and Probation Practitioners.
    • Delivering 1:1 support sessions and interventions.
    • Facilitating group interventions and activities.
    • Supporting people before and after release from prison.
    • Working alongside Probation Practitioners and other professionals.
    • Supporting Service Users to access health, wellbeing and other essential services.
    • Helping people overcome social exclusion and build positive connections in their communities.
    • Taking part in practical and community-based activities and projects.
    • Keeping clear, accurate and up-to-date records of all contacts and interventions.
    • Ensuring all support is delivered safely, professionally and in line with the individual’s sentence conditions.
    • Making every contact count and helping Service Users move forward to another life.

    All probation-based roles are subject to enhanced DBS checks and HMPPS security vetting. These checks can take up to 6- 16 weeks to complete. Any offer of employment will be conditional upon the successful completion of both checks.

    Please note if you have lived overseas within the last 5 years then checks may take longer.
