We’re looking for a motivated and compassionate Recovery Support Worker to join our team at HMP Onley, working within an integrated healthcare framework to support adults with drug and alcohol needs. This is a hands-on, people-focused role where you’ll help individuals make meaningful, lasting changes in their lives.
What you’ll do
You’ll deliver client-centred, evidence-based support to offenders entering custody who are identified as having substance misuse needs. Your work will include:
- Managing a caseload and delivering both harm-reduction and abstinence-based interventions
- Providing high-quality assessments, care plans, and 1:1 structured sessions
- Facilitating group-work and structured treatment programmes where required
- Working closely with partner services including Healthcare, Probation, Transitional Services, Housing, Employment, Gym, and external Drug Intervention Teams to ensure seamless through-care and release planning
- Contributing to service targets and measuring outcomes
- Supporting clinical provision, which may include second signatory duties and oral swab testing

- Ability to build positive, co-operative relationships with partner agencies
- Flexibility to work occasional evenings/weekends and travel to nearby projects when required
