About the role
Are you a creative digital communicator who loves turning ideas into engaging content, using data to understand what works, and bringing communications projects to life?
We’re looking for a Digital Communications Officer to join our Digital Communications Team and play a key role in how Forward communicates, connects and engages with its audiences.
This is a varied, hands-on digital communications all-rounder role. Working alongside a Digital Content Officer and reporting to the Digital Communications Manager, you’ll combine creativity, project management, technical expertise and analytical thinking to deliver high-quality digital communications across the organisation.
No two days will look exactly the same. You could be planning a digital campaign, creating an engaging video, capturing photography, writing content for social media, updating our website, analysing channel performance, supporting an event or working with colleagues across the organisation to bring a new project to life.
You’ll balance the delivery of day-to-day digital communications with longer-term projects and campaigns, working closely with internal teams and external partners to ensure our communications are engaging, accessible, inclusive and aligned with Forward’s brand and reputation.
You’ll also use audience insight and digital analytics to understand what’s working, identify opportunities for growth and continuously improve the way we communicate.
This is a remote role; however, occasional travel will be required for training, site visits, meetings, events and other work-related activities.
What you’ll be doing
You’ll have the opportunity to:
- Plan, create and deliver engaging multimedia content, including video, photography, graphics and written content.
- Develop and manage content calendars and digital communications plans.
- Create compelling content for channels including Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, LinkedIn, X and YouTube.
- Manage and publish content through Content Management Systems and digital platforms.
- Support campaigns, events and wider communications projects from planning through to delivery and evaluation.
- Monitor and report on website and social media performance, using data and insight to inform future activity.
- Create content that connects with diverse audiences and meets accessibility and best-practice standards.
- Support community engagement and help build positive relationships with our audiences.
- Provide digital communications advice to colleagues and stakeholders across the organisation.
- Work with external partners and suppliers where required.
- Help protect and strengthen Forward’s brand, reputation and digital presence through high standards of governance and professional practice.
- Manage multiple projects and deadlines in a busy and fast-paced communications environment.
