  • About The Role

  • We’re looking for a motivated and creative Corporate/Internal Communications Officer to join our dynamic Communications Team. This junior-level role offers a fantastic opportunity to grow your communications career in a supportive, fast-paced environment.

As part of our Communications Team, you’ll contribute to a wide range of projects, from PR and campaigns to brand, digital, and internal communications. You’ll play a key role in engaging our staff through high-quality, visually compelling internal content that reflects our evolving brand and values.

Reporting to the Corporate/Internal Communications Manager, you’ll work closely with colleagues across the Research and Development Directorate, including Fundraising and Communications teams, as well as stakeholders from across the organisation.

This is the perfect opportunity for someone early in their communications journey, particularly if you’re confident using design tools like Canva, enjoy storytelling through visuals and words, and want to help shape how staff connect with our mission.

    Key Responsibilities

    Internal Communications Support

    • Produce and distribute internal materials such as newsletters, staff updates, posters, digital assets, and presentations.
    • Support staff engagement campaigns that reflect our brand and values.
    • Contribute to the delivery of internal communications plans that promote Forward’s mission and strengthen staff connection.
    • Gather feedback to help improve communication reach and impact.

    Design and Content Creation

    • Create simple, engaging, and brand-aligned visuals using tools such as Canva, PowerPoint, or Adobe Creative Suite.
    • Maintain and develop a library of editable templates for reports, flyers, and presentations.
    • Format and design internal documents and visual assets in line with brand guidelines.
    • Collaborate with the Digital Communications team and external suppliers to produce innovative content.

    Corporate Communications Support

    • Assist with the delivery of external campaigns, stakeholder materials, and brand collateral.
    • Support brand refresh and identity rollout projects.
    • Ensure written and visual materials are consistent with our tone of voice and brand standards.
    • Help maintain internal channels, including the intranet and shared folders.

    Administration and Coordination

    • Maintain internal comms content calendars and trackers (e.g. via Microsoft Forms/SharePoint).
    • Support internal campaigns and events such as awareness days or staff launches.
    • Keep accurate records of assets and support communications evaluations.
    • Liaise with print suppliers or external design agencies.
    • Act as a point of contact for internal comms queries, ensuring timely responses.
    • Support updates to the intranet/SharePoint system.
    • Provide general assistance to the Corporate Communications Manager as required.

    About You

    Essential Skills and Experience

    • Experience creating visual content using Canva or similar tools.
    • Strong writing and proofreading skills, with the ability to tailor messages for internal audiences.
    • Understanding of internal communications and its role in employee engagement.
    • Awareness of brand guidelines and visual identity principles.
    • Organised, proactive, and able to manage multiple priorities.
    • A collaborative team player with a positive, can-do attitude.
    • Confident using Microsoft Office, particularly Word and PowerPoint.

    Desirable Skills and Experience

    • Basic knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, or Premiere Pro.
    • Experience in the charity or public sector.
    • Experience creating written content for varied audiences.
    • Familiarity with CMS systems (e.g. WordPress, SharePoint).
    • Experience working with print suppliers or design agencies.
    • Experience using data collection or survey tools (e.g. Microsoft Forms, SurveyMonkey).
    • Involvement in brand campaigns or rebrand projects.
