We’re looking for a Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner (PWP) to join our Talking Therapies team at HMP The Mount on a full-time basis (35 hours per week). This is a rewarding opportunity to support individuals experiencing low to moderate mental health conditions, including anxiety and depression, within a structured, recovery-focused environment.
Working within a Talking Therapies service, you’ll deliver evidence-based, low-intensity psychological interventions (Step 2) designed to help people make meaningful progress in their mental health. You’ll work 1:1 and in group settings, supporting individuals to develop practical coping strategies and move forward with confidence.
What you’ll be doing:
- Assessing suitability for low-intensity psychological interventions
- Delivering Step 2 Talking Therapies for anxiety and depression
- Providing 1:1 support and facilitating therapeutic groups
- Managing a structured caseload with appropriate prioritisation and care planning
- Working collaboratively with prison and partner agencies in a multidisciplinary setting
- Participating in clinical supervision and case management
- Maintaining accurate, high-quality clinical records and risk assessments
What we’re looking for:
- Qualified or trainee PWP with a recognised PWP qualification (or working towards it)
- Strong understanding of low-intensity CBT-based interventions
- Experience working within Talking Therapies / IAPT frameworks
- Ability to manage a caseload effectively and work within structured clinical pathways
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Commitment to collaborative, multidisciplinary working
- Confidence in risk assessment and safe practice within a secure setting
- Commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusive practice
