  • About The Role

  • As Team Leader at The Brink, you will lead the delivery of community-based drug and alcohol services for adults aged 18 and over. You will oversee a team of Recovery Practitioners, supporting the delivery of person-centred treatment that meets the individual needs of our service users.

You will manage a small caseload alongside providing and overseeing a range of interventions, including harm reduction, psychosocial support, structured 1:1 and group sessions, wellbeing interventions and structured treatment programmes. You will ensure that assessments and SMART care plans are completed to a high standard and that individuals receive the right support to achieve positive and sustainable outcomes.

Working closely with the Service Manager and wider team, you will help ensure the service meets its key performance indicators and outcome targets. You will provide supervision, guidance and training to practitioners, while supporting the ongoing development of the service.

Building strong relationships with partner agencies will be an important part of the role, helping to ensure effective partnership working and continuity of care for service users.

The role requires flexibility, including some evening and weekend work depending on service user needs. You may also be required to travel to other local projects, with reasonable notice, to support continuity of service.

    About You

We are looking for an experienced substance misuse professional with a strong background in leading and supervising within community substance misuse services.

You will have experience of carrying out comprehensive assessments, developing and implementing SMART care plans, and supporting colleagues to deliver these to a high standard. You will also have experience delivering structured interventions and be confident sharing your knowledge and skills with practitioners and wider teams.

You will have a good understanding of psychosocial interventions and how they can support people experiencing drug and alcohol issues. You will be confident using Motivational Interviewing techniques in both 1:1 and group settings and when supporting your team.

You will be an effective and supportive leader, able to develop others through supervision, training and guidance. Strong communication, partnership-working and organisational skills are essential, alongside good IT skills and confidence using case management systems.

Most importantly, you will be committed to delivering person-centred, inclusive and evidence-based support, helping both service users and colleagues achieve positive outcomes.
